Masks recommended in South Australia
November 30, 2020
South Australian Premier Steven Marshall visited the Detmold Medical facility today as mask wearing continues to be strongly recommended by SA Health.
Joined by Health Minister Hon Stephen Wade, Police Commissioner Grant Stevens and SA's Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr Emily Kirkpatrick, the Premier gave his local COVID-19 update from Detmold Medical.
SA Health has issued advice in relation to face masks, recommending a mask be worn when out in public, if you are unable to physically distance.
This includes in instances such as shopping, on public transport and in hospitals, health settings or aged care facilities.
Hon Steven Marshall said Detmold Medical's actions were crucial in the supply of PPE during the coronavirus pandemic.
"Over the last two weeks Detmold Medical has provided 2million masks more than they are contracted to provide to SA Health during this difficult time with the Parafield cluster," Hon Steven Marshall said during the press conference.
"They have gone on to also provide masks in Queensland, the ACT, Victoria, and the Northern Territory.
"This is fantastic work in helping to support Australia in the provisions they need during the coronavirus pandemic," Hon Steven Marshall said.
As mask wearing becomes more commonplace, Premier Steven Marshall today modelled an Australia Day mask, demonstrating how masks can be customised for events or occasions.
